Reports To: VP, Development & Member Services and Director, Membership Recruitment & Retention
The International Franchise Association (IFA) is looking for a Membership Intern to assist us in our daily functions and long-term membership marketing plans. IFA is the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising worldwide, with a mission to protect, enhance and promote the franchise business model. You will be joining the Membership Department, which is responsible for the recruitment and retention of prospective and current members, bringing in $10+ million per year in revenue.
We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, independent and has high attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide IFA members and prospects with the best customer service possible. The Membership Intern should be someone excited to learn more about the franchise business model and to provide concierge level service to director and c-suite level employees of member & prospect companies. Interns interested in working in the membership department will leave with an understanding of the franchise business model, trade associations, and various functions within the Association’s salesforce database. This is a full-time position paying $15/hour. Start and end dates are flexible.
Responsibilities
Membership Recruitment (50%)
- Researching and prospecting potential membership leads
- Work cross-departmentally alongside the Director, Membership Recruitment and Retention to help create a marketing strategy for prospective members
- Work alongside Director, Membership Recruitment and Retention to update Membership Prospect materials
- Adding and properly coding potential membership leads into IFA’s CRM, Nimble
Membership Retention (15)%:
- Restructure and execute current membership “thank you” program for members who are renewing their membership
- Revise processes for mentorship program
Administrative (35)%:
- Assist membership team in researching and updating individual and company accounts as requested by members or informed by prospect news
- Assist in ordering, packing and shipping materials for industry events
- Learn reporting functions within Salesforce to help “clean” data
- Other duties as assigned
Experience & Skills:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program preferably pursuing a degree in a business or communications field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office platform (i.e. Outlook, Word Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Nimble or other CRM is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Enthusiasm about finding business solutions both within the membership department and cross-department
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, tight-knit team
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability for your own work
